The most common road name for the Marx caboose is undoutedly New York Central. Of 100 Marx cabooses found probably fifty
will be NYC. These NYC 18326 cabooses with the herald are a little less common. On the left is the tri-color example. This is
another case of Marx spicing up the low end series to give it more appeal. It's hard to imagine that they did this for a
set that cost just a few dollars and was marketed to kids under ten!
Next is the all red version which is quite rare. I have seen more blue B&O four wheel cabooses than I have these. This
piece is quite underappreciated and the set can be found on this site.
The white caboose is about as common as the tri-color but can still be a challenge to find.
Finally we have the orange sample which came in a 1962 set shown elswhere on my site as well.
