Here is an elusive piece. The 567 New York Central side dump car with the brown platform.
Al Woodward turned this one up and allowed me to present it here for
all to see and understand.
In the photograph above we can understand why the brown frame variation was made. Apparently
Marx, for some reason, decided to use bin lithograph sheets to make the platforms. Of course,
the back side of the bin is brown, thus the brown platform.

This is the common brass deck version of the 567 Side Dump.
This late example of the 567 has a gold deck. This looks very much like gold anodized aluminium and for years I believed it was.
A magnet proved otherwise. It is steel but the color, while metallic is quite unlike the typical brass.
