552 Sewer Tile Gondola


I found this car several years ago thinking that someone had mixed the sewer tiles from a scale set with the 552 Groceries and Sundries gondola. My friend Trip Riley suggested that I not jump to conclusions and keep the car together as found until I found information that would either confirm or deny this as a legitimate array. Not long ago a Marx document fell into my hands that lists cars produced. One of the cars listed in the document is
Small Metal RR Cars, 4 Large Metal Wheels
Sales Number 536A Sewer Tile Car.

Is this the Sewer Tile Car? This is exactly as purchased, sleeve, tiles, and all.

Anyone else out there have one? Let me know.
