The seven-inch train series released by Marx in the early 1950's was not long lived nor was it very extensive. The total number of pieces in the series does not top thirty. This set is one of the few from this series that I like. The Williams Crooks engine is extremely well detailed for an inexpensive plastic train. The "wood pile" litho tender is arguably the best looking 6" tender and the seven-inch coaches with the open platforms are very pleasing. The fact that this is a clockwork set makes it especially adorable to me. I love clockworks!
