These pieces were built by Mr. Steve Rademacker. I have used the owners original words to
describe them.
The burro crane - the frame and base is a Marx hand car and was painted
black. The crane cab is the common
Marx plastic crane cab with the original boom removed. The boom is from the
Marx 5590 crane. The hand wheel
on the side controls the hook, the height of the boom is fixed. A string is
run behind the cleat on the top of the cab.
This cleat is used to hold the metal guide wire on the original non-moving
boom. One loop was added to the end as
a coupler for the gondola.
The burro crane gondola - is a Marx-Tronic gondola with a new tab and slot
coupler added to match the burro crane.
This car was painted black. The gondola carries extra Marx wheel sets.!
The center cab locomotive is built from parts of 1998 switchers. The frame
is a 1998 with the end rails
cut off. one was damaged so to make the loco look correct both were cut off.
Three cabs were used:
1 Rock Island cab was used and 2 Santa Fe cabs. The Rock Island cab was cut
off from the hood and
centered on the frame. Then the hoods of the Santa Fe units were cut down to
fit on the frame. Only one
end has a working headlight. The side handrails were removed. This looks
like a small center cab loco.
