These two Cars showed up some time ago on a popular auction site. I had not seen any
orange roof freight cars but orange certainly makes sense for Joy Line freight cars
considering the amount of orange roof passenger cars produced.
Someone wanted these more
than me so they're not mine but it gives me something else to hope for.
I have since picked up the orange roof 356 Eagle Eye caboose but I am still looking for the 355 boxcar!
Here are three variations of the 356 Eagle Eye Caboose on black frames. The black roof is probably the most common. The orange roof is rare. The yellow roof shows up but not as often as the black.
Here is another
rare car I acquired recently. It is a 353 Everful Tank Car with orange ends. One would expect that
orange would be a common Joy Line color considering the abundance or orange roof coaches but
apparently there was some taboo at Girard about using orange anywhere else in the line!
