CONDITION-----Good with moderate playwear especially to the frame. Still, a nice piece if you don't have one.

NOTES------------As American involvement in WW2 approaced materials like tin and zinc were withdrawn from the market or became too expensive to use. Marx resorted to blackening and painting surfaces that formerly had been plated. The end caps and dome of this otherwise common tank car exhibit this treatment, painted black. The wheels are also blackened (parkerized maybe?) rather than being plated. This was done only for a short time making this a rarer example of the Middle States Oil tank car.
